I ordered some Cosmonot from Richard, should be here Friday. I'll write something up once I give it a go. Should be a good test, as my 03 still has some 7 year old snot on it, and so does the Clubman. Mark
Scott, the bottom line is this. You love Zaino and have been using it since 2005. You tried Prima and decided for yourself that Zaino was still better for you. That's great! However I will say that Prima isn't just one type of product. They they many unique products within the line that Zaino can't touch and I would say are even easier to use than Zaino and provide superior results especially on darker colors. Washing and waxing doesn't get any easier than with Hydro. Carnauba waxing with Banana Gloss that fills defects, warms and richens the paint, and takes very little elbow grease, REGARDLESS of ambient temperatures (hot or cold)..takes only a bit more time than Hydro. I don't like to polish my MINI all the time, Jet Black is soft and shows all defects, so Banana Gloss is great for me. I can wash and wax in an hour and have it looking like I just machine polished it. Epic is the closest product to Zaino since they are both synthetic polymer based, but Epic produces richer, reflective colors, while Zaino produces crisp, mirror like reflections that lack depth and richness. Should the OP want to get into machine polishing with an orbital, the potential results go up dramatically. That would be true of any system, including Zaino. Except that Prima offers polishes and a unique polymer glaze polish called Amigo that takes the finish to the next level even after machine polishing. The OP asked where to buy Prima. Look at the thread title. Prima Products. Why we are even debating Prima is beyond me. You should be starting your own Zaino thread.
Well, so far: More Slick Hydro Nero Cosmonot And I haven't figured out what finishes/polishes to get yet. Figured I'd talk to Richard about that
Not lame at all!! Remember what I said earlier "we might be weirdos to the uninitiated, but we are happy weirdos with beautiful cars." Yes CosmoNot will easily get rid of the ooze! Cosmoline is best removed as soon as you see it, not after it's been sitting for awhile as it tends to deform and leave an impression in plastic, and sometimes even the paint. I have most Prima products in stock, Epic is out at the moment, but I've got a huge restocking order on all Prima products coming in probably by tomorrow, so I will have plenty of stock of everything by the end of the week. Btw, Mark said Hydro is available in gallons. So is Mystique and Banana Gloss! Gallon purchases are more economical too! Not only saves on future shipping costs on the smaller bottles, but you also get more product for the money. Richard Call me toll free 866 707 9292 or PM me and we'll talk!
Richard, We'll definitely have to talk about finishes. I also decided to muddy the waters and start another detailing thread: Here Feel free to comment :cornut:
You started the whole which is better ........ I just suggested the OP do some research into the Zaino line. You had to respond with a long drawn out post with pic's showing why, in your opinion, the Prima products are better. It's great that you love the product so much, and it helps that you have a vested interest in expanding the market base.
Wow I did?? Let me go back and see. This is a PRIMA THREAD. THE OP asked where she can buy it other than directly from Prima. You post the following that is completely off topic: Then you go on to say BEFORE I respond to you. Unless I am totally twisted, I'd say that you began this whole off topic thing about which is better. For some reason every time Heather or I post about Prima, you have to jump into our threads and talk about why Zaino is better. This isn't the first time. You did it on the Sewing Site and you're doing it here. Do I have a vested interested? Heck yeah. I'm a freaking sponsor for both of those sites and I pay to be here unlike you or Zaino. And to clear up your foggy memory, I used and played with Prima long before I began selling it because I was using Meguiar's Professional products and I was using Zaino even earlier than that..and I wasn't even selling them either. I just liked Prima a heck of a lot more than either of them.
Read what you want........and weren't some of your posts in that thread on the sewing site removed/edited? So just because you are a sponsor we shouldn't offer alternatives? My first post simply asked the OP to check out the Zaino line. I didn't tell her to go out and buy the stuff now did I? As they don't have a "professional" presence here and thus don't get the exposure that the Prima line does, I like to make sure folks are aware that there are other products available that perform as well if not better than yours. I was simply stating my experience with both products, unfortunately you seem to respond to those kinds of posts with a very detailed post about why I am wrong and you are right.
Ok kids.. There are many product lines that work and work well. No need for the direction of this thread to keep going in this way. Want to debate the pros and cons of different product lines create a new thread. Something like "The Pros and Cons of Various Detailing Product Lines"
ENOUGH ALREADY. There are other threads already started to discuss different product lines. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/detailing/2378-detailing-products.html Or here, but if you do go here, and it becomes a battle of who's spray bottle can squirt the furthest, you have to stand in the sunrrr:. http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/detailing/2536-shade-tree.html Mark
Actually nope, my posts weren't edited or removed. But you were in fact banned from the site now weren't you??? Hmmmm. If you really want to try to dig up dirt, you are looking in the wrong field my friend. :confused5: Actually Scott, I never said you were wrong...why be so defensive about this? You are missing the point. This thread is about PRIMA. Get it? Go start your own Zaino thread and talk all you want about it. I never said people shouldn't have alternatives but unfortunately just because you decide you don't like Prima and you prefer to stick with your favorite product, doesn't mean that everyone else should agree with you. You brought up the fact I have a vested interest in Prima. You always have to try to drag in the fact that since I sell it, I must not be trustworthy. Fortunately my friend, I base my replies on fact. If you don't like the facts, then stopping reading and responding to my posts.
