ASK MINI said mine was released to the carrier today (Friday - 9/13). I have no idea what ship, or even the name of the shipping line, that will take my Roadster from Southampton to Baltimore.

My car was literally "born" on Friday the 13th in the year 2013. Now that's a great omen for the future....

 

Thank you, sir. The greater the progress, the less patience I have. September will be a very long month indeed!

 

Appreciate the sentiments, guys. ASK MINI's automated system said the completion date is September 13th. Oxford --- Baltimore --- Northern Virginia. My rental car is due back October 5th. My Sales Manager gave me an ETA of September 26th, but that sounds a little tight. Gonna be close.

 

The Owner's Lounge still shows the Roadster "scheduled for production". I called ASK MINI today and they said it's in "assembly", the final production phase. It will be available to ship after tomorrow (9/13). The Owner's Lounge is fairly useless....

 

Call 1-866-ASK-MINI with your production number at hand (7 digit number in the top left hand corner of her Vehicle Inquiry Report). They can give you an updated status of where her car is in production.

 

Two guys I know completed their production on 9/13, like me. They're both scheduled to board the "Turandot" on 9/15. To my knowledge, I have yet to be assigned a ship. WW has the "Tonsberg" departing Southampton on 9/15 and the "Independence II" departing 9/18. The trip from Southampton to Baltimore is 10 days. Perhaps I'll get on board one of those ships. The Baltimore VDC is an hour's drive from my dealership. I need my Roadster by 10/5, the date my Fiat 500 rental returns to Budget. Lord knows I'd love to have it sooner!

 

Yes. I plugged in the VIN supplied by the MINI Owner's Lounge and received "no records found" from the WW site. I'm getting discouraged, insofar as others released the same date depart for America's coast today. Pissed might be a more accurate characterization.

 

Their boats go to Brunswick, not Baltimore. There were Baltimore-bound WW ships available at the same time, but I just discovered that my Roadster sat at Oxford for nearly 3 days before arriving at Southampton on Monday.
