7 or 8 days?
I thought it was only about 36 hours total....
Which manufacturer is it that's going to let folks watch their car going down the assembly line via video now? I read that somewhere.....Nissan leaf? Chevy Volt? One of those I think...... -

Good question Erika. I'm not sure if it's a START of production date or a FINISHED production date.
But I agree, there ain't much time that elapses between those two, so it won't vary much either way. Would be nice to know the answer though. -
To try and get to the bottom of this I called Ask-MINI (866-ASK-MINI) for the answer. Using my VIN the start of production was Nov 17, 06 and it rolled off the line on Nov 28, 06.
Depending on the line it was on it can take from 6 -10 days from when production started until a completed, ready to ship MINI is out the door. The date given is the actual start date of production according to the very nice person I spoke to. -

I confess I've had too much or not enough coffee...
Date confusion aside, one thing we DO get, once the car is in production, is access to a video through the Owner's Lounge that shows about 5 minutes of build footage. It's pretty awesome. -

Thanks for the replies.
Today is Schultze's 4th birthday and he's just shy of 68K on the clock, too!
Hoping to have the new aftermarket horn installed no later than Sunday.
I have a few other "gifts" planned, too...secrets, secrets! -

What great info Nathan, thanks!
On a second note, it seems your car was completed on my birthday that year....
