I watch these guys and then weep for the poor mechanic who is handed this car in 20 years by a more-money-than-sense guy who is the new owner and says 'fix it'. With every part either hand-made or from a seemingly random car that had a part that looked like it would fit, this thing has to be a mechanic's nightmare! At least there is a lot of documentation...

I agree with Agranger…...wonder why they went to the trouble to use the Metro wiper motor when they already had a working Mini one, then they wouldn't have had to make the complicated slide mechanism. Just build a bracket and put it all together...….

OTOH, I doubt this car will go on to anyone else, they'll probaby stuff it like they did the Celica.

Because the old wiper motor was made by Satan himself. LUCAS ....hahahahaha.

This car will not be sold to anyone, it will be a functioning show piece used for fun stuff.

Yeah... we all say that it will never be sold, but dreams change, life gets in the way and kids or the IRS inherit our crap when we die...

I get that they wanted an upgrade. The original ones look pretty shite and I too once said "Rain sensing wipers? Too lazy to reach a finger up to tap the wiper stalk? What's this world coming to?" until I had a car with 'em and I never want to go back. I'm not sure I'd spend the amount of time it takes to retrofit auto wipers to a 1960-era car, though... I'd be worried that so many side track projects would mean the project will never get done and on the road. I still have a handfull of Rufus projects that I put on the shelf to get him on the road and driving.

Not sure how quickly they are driving to get it on the road.. that said, agreed. Not sure I would retro that.. but cool they did. :D
