Yep. Dent and a scrape. One of the reasons why I got it so cheap. Planning on getting it PDR'd soon - I'll eventually get the back bumper and hatch painted, need to figure out a game plan for the driver's rear quarter (some scratches there, too).
Any guess what a rear hatch paint job should cost (no dents, just deep scratch and obviously need perfect color match)? My dark silver Mini has a pretty deep 8 inch vertical scratch across the CooperS logo that really bugs me.
Depending on the body shop, I'd say around $750, give or take a couple hundred. Ask around and find a shop that's highly recommended and get an estimate. If I keep this car long-term, I'll probably just get the whole thing re-painted, so...
Spent some time at Helix today - had them replace the short shifter and install a 15% pulley, new plugs, belt, and I opted to do the air filter while I was in there, since it seemed like the air filter had never been replaced.
Jethus Cwithe, from that angle it almost looks like I'm starting to go bald. I'm sure it's just weird lighting or angle or something, right guys?
...or paints correction, based upon the various shades of Evergreen on my Clownshoe. Maybe we can swap services soon and I'll do some service on your atomic strawberry and you correct my Schuu.
Spent all day in the garage yesterday. Test fit the TD wheels, cleaned up the rear brakes and prepped for paint, and then painted the new front R56s calipers and the rear calipers.
Really impressed with how the paint turned out. Anyways - aiming to install the brakes today, and start on the suspension on Saturday. Slowwwwwwly getting somewhere.
I used the Duplicolor brush-on caliper paint kit. Turned out pretty flawless until I accidentally got brake fluid on the passenger front caliper while I was installing and bleeding the lines tonight. Whoops. I'll bring an F56. I'll be around the whole week, though - flag me down if I don't drop in first.
Then we can all talk **** about your car. Ask dave about how i offended a guy so bad from atlanta he never came back.
