Flawless is overrated. I prefer the distressed look - actively used badass cars have imperfect paint on the calipers. :ihih:
I'm tempted to paint mine white but the idea of them constantly looking dirty would bother my OCD like crazy. New side profile pics with the calipers? How well can you see them past the wheels? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Totally depends on the type of wheel you have. Mine are pretty open, so you can see that rear caliper quite well (fronts are anodized Wilwood anyway, always look dirty as they are more purple/brown than any particular color) see what I mean about wheel type making a difference - we didn't bother painting the calipers on the red car even though we totally cleaned them to a mirror shine when we did the brakes a few weeks ago (link since this isn't my car thread) Flickr - Photo Sharing!
Exactly, i was asking about yours specifically. When i had my Miata i had painted the Calipers blue and it was barely noticeable because the wheels i had. But it was a fun experience.
well, both cars in the picture are mine (my son thinks the red one is his, but my name is on that title :cornut. The red calipers now have some scratches from the wire brush I used to clean the area that makes contact with the pads. I hope to replace the calipers completely anyway, paint the new ones before install, but first I need to get a clear idea how to get the parking cable out without destroying cable nor caliper (core charge)
Busy day. It's finally done. Kinda. Suspension is on, tires come Wednesday, I'm going to try to get some dents pulled and then give it a little waxing before the dragon.
Did a few more small things tonight. Fine tuned the ride height, tightened the collars on the coilovers, pulled the tail lights out to inspect for rust, cleaned behind them, and removed a bug from the left rear taillight, and replaced the front emblem. Oh, and most importantly... test fit the new shoes.
Thanks! Had my work cut out for me - lots of 10 year old crud buildup, Cosmoline, and busted motor mount goo to remove.
Clean! I really don't feel all that bad that the Porker is coming down filthy! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Looks better than when the car was first titled, I'll bet! Nice job! Dave will be getting jittery if you keep this up [the King of OCD is about to be deposed]!
I'd wager I can put up a good OCD fight. Cleaned the interior last night - wiped down the plastics and leather with 1Z Cockpit, scrubbed the seat fabric with Sonax upholstery cleaner, and reconditioned the leather with 1Z Lederpflege. And of course I cleaned the glass, and polished the dash, too.
