:cornut: No help here but I'll 'bump you' and one of our experienced gear heads should be along soon.

I have heard that the ford one is more likely to behave like an open diff as opposed to the quaife. I eventually plan on going with the quaife from a price point its not that much more than the ford part.

Actually the Quaife is the one that will spin a tire on ice. And last tme I checked the Ford unit was around $700 and the Quaife was still about $1200.

And here is a nice write-up on diff's.....
Differentials (Open, LSD and so on) -
My quaife diff arrived yesterday I bought direct from them in the UK And with conversion to dollar it worked out at $860 it's due to be fitted this week as part of a rebuild, so will let you know the difference when it's up and running

Nice......looks like the Quaife is now around $1000 at most vendors.

Thanks for the input everyone. I ended up going with a Quaife. Looks like I paid too much ($982 shipped), but ordered yesterday evening, received it today. Just waiting on my transmission to be delivered so I can get this thing back together!
