    :cornut: No this is not the norm. When whacky electrical things start happening with a MINI, a bad battery is always the first suspect. Check your battery. If your 2010 MINI still has the original battery, then it's approaching 4years old which is the average life of a battery in MINIs.:Thumbsup:

    :cornut: If you don't know then the easiest thing to do is go to an 'Autozone' store(that carries batteries for your MINI by the way) and ask them to check it for you. They'll do it and if it's bad, they'll sell you one much cheaper than MINI. My Margi has an Autozone battery. Good Luck.:Thumbsup:

    Heather, I think what's happening is your fuel pump is priming and the windows go down slightly and go back up when you close the door so they seal properly.

    These are normal things.

    I do not have comfort access....

    I will have the battery checked and see -- thanks everyone !! Also, i have the extended maintance plan on my car (came with it) so I think this is covered, yes?

    that is good to know (about the doors) but the humming sound happens anytime I open the doors, could that still be the fuel pump?

    Example - i went out on Sunday morning, came back, parked William in garage and went inside....when I went out 8 hours later and opened the door to get my wallet, the windows went down and this electrical sound came on, like a humming that a fridge in your kitchen makes.

    Once I shut the door, the sound continues for about 15 - 20 seconds and then shuts off.
