Photo from last year in the snow and the dark.. Water was freezing as I was trying to dry it. Had to look good for a club drive to the Chicago Auto Show..
About to go finish the interior now. Here's a pic of the finished wax/polish. No I hadn't done the vinyl yet! I thought the tractor shot was just funny!
Yep, I am one of the obsessive ones. It is 40 degrees outside, snow is still on the ground in some places, and I washed both MINIs today....
I once wished it would rain just a little harder when I was washing my car, it was almost strong enough to rinse the car for me Now that I have a proper garage I can not imagine going back.
I'm going insane with all this mud/snow/mud/ice/mud on our now single wide driveway, as the new garage is being built:mad2: Mark
Word is that we are getting up to 60 on Friday albeit with some rain in the forecast. One guess what I have on the plate.......two VERY dirty MINI's!
It was sunny on this end of the country yesterday. My car was washed inside and out. This morning as I left the house for work, it was snowing really hard. Now that the car is inside the parking garage at my office, it's sunny again.
My poor car's covered in salt Hoping this weekend I can clean him. The inside's pretty narly too :mad2:
Running them through a laser wash is a good idea, They wash off the bottom of the car where that salt can cause some real damage over time... 2 cents
If you can handle a coin wash, just spray what you can off. Spend some time washing the underside of the car. That said, if it's to cold to do a proper wash, just let it drip dry, DON'T wipe the paint with anything. Mark
I remember seeing someone setting up one of those ring type garden sprinklers in the street (the kind that looks like a doughnut with a hundred little holes), then driving back and forth rinsing the salt off. Thought that was pretty smart idea.
That's an awesome idea! Although the simpler way would be to move the sprinkler - not the car - I think.
I do the sprinkler thing in the spring. Any sprinkler will do, let it soak an area for about 5 minutes rinsing away winter crap then move it a few feet and repeat.
We don't need no stinking drain and heated garage. We washed our car in a 5 foot snow drift with water we melted by breathing on it. AND WE LIKED IT!:arf:
