I'm sure it will do just fine. Pretty neat project. Nice to see a MINI going to be used in competition & not just droning back n forth on some road. ;)

Nice project, should do fine if you can get all the power to the wheels. Going to upgrade to a FWD system from an old Countryman ALLwheel?

Enjoy and go slow until you have it done right.

Suspension and good breaks are better mods for an R50. You can keep the speed you make in the corners and break later into the turns.

    • When did you talk to Jan about your R50? I had the ecu in my R50 done by Jan while at MOTD about 3 years ago. It had an ecu on it by another vendor and Jan felt it was outdated after having checked it out, and installed his own [a newer and more efficient one].

Nice looking parts! The age old oil question. On all my Minis I use Mobile1. On my Exige I have been using Motul X-cess gen2. I am also using a zinc additive because the Lotus with the 2ZZ motors have a problem eating intake cams. I am not running a cat so I don't have to worry about the zinc hurting it. I dont believe you need the extra zinc.
Given that you are racing this car I would go with Motul.

Yes remap with ELF race fuel . 140 hp on dyno test , not more at this stage .

Are you using the stock ECU or a standalone?

Would it be possible to have an ecu tune put on the car? I had one put on my R50 by Jan [Revolution Motor Works].
