The odd thing to me is that the 2006 R50, R52 & R53 are not included. They also are not part of the NHTSA investigation. Hmmm?????
I'd hate to lose the steering on my 2006 & plunge through the front window of the local MINI showroom. :biggrin5:

Word to the wise, always keep those repair receipts filed away somewhere. They could come in handy.
Certainly good news.....
I would bet our government will now act as well......
Ahhhhh, Thanks Canada....-

The image I used is not my car, it's a random one I picked from a Garage when I was looking for an example to show. It would be helpful if you created a Garage so we at least know what year and model you have when questions are asked. Garages are a good reference, you don't have to say I have a xyz every time, we can just look at the Garage.
MINI uses Pentosin 11S for power steering fluid. Unless there is a leak or you flush the system there is really no reason to keep a can on the shelf.
Early 1st Gen cars did not have a cover over the fan, later ones did.
The coolant tank pictured above is a Forge brand tanks, it's aftermarket and has been painted.-

Transport Canada kind of forces NHTSA's hand. What's NHTSA going to say..... Ahhhhh no.... No problem here, let's move on.....

So does the pump have to completely fail, or will slow leaking qualify?

That is till NHSTA pulls it head out of the sand. -

I'm wondering if there was possibly a running change made to the p/s pumps & the 2006 & up have a new more durable design. I'm at 102,000 & mine is working fine. I have replaced 3 P/S cooling fans in that time.
