    And another thread...

starts to swirl around the bowl!

Got a photo from Guenter. The daughterboards fit like they should. He's building up harnesses and boards now that will send out to me for distribution.

Ignorant capitalist. Toilet paper is for the rich bourgeois types. The proletariat uses newspaper. Don't forget to mush it up a bit, you don't want any paper cuts there.

You'da man. Looking forward to it.

I'm happy you've correctly identified me as a rich bourgeois type. Matt figured that out a while back.

    Received.... installed.... works!
    :D

Question - did I imagine it or wasn't there a discussion about a single-tap-for-sunroof feature?

    I really have no clue!

I thought there was. I think it's a programmable mode. But check with Guenter. Because he built them and programmed them, he's the one that has to upgrade the manual! (Docs are last in line....)

Anyway, e-mail him at [email protected] and ask.

    Matt

ps, we had some pushback from one set of users who said that they though it was too complicated that way and didn't want the feature. I know what we were planning on building but it's a secret! Only Guenter knows for sure! Since I don't have a cabrio, I can't test out the features....

    Cool - certainly not a show-stopper - but a nice-to-have. I'm happy no matter what!

    I emailed guenter.

Here's the deal... there are two "modes"...

    CHAPTER 1 WELCOME

The R52 Top Commander circuit is a control module for all R52 Mini Cooper that makes opening and closing the top much easier. No longer do you have to hold buttons down through a long and annoying sequence.
The Top Commander module controls the switches for opening and closing the top and windows in the windshield frame cover. Installation is done right behind the switches.
The Top Commander module can be operated in two distinct modes:

Standard Mode (Default): In this mode you can open and close the top via a double tap. The module takes care of everything. A single tap on the window close button will automatically close all four windows.

Sunroof Mode:This mode allows for separate control of the sunroof:
A single tap will open or close the sunroof only. A double tap will fully open or close the top. A single tap on the window close button will automatically close all four windows.

    1.1 SETTING THE DESIRED MODE
The factory default mode is Standard Mode. If you need to switch to Sunroof Mode, this is what you need to do:
    • With the module installed, hold the window close button for more than 20 seconds.
    • The LED will start blinking that the mode has switched.
    • Release the window close button, the module is now in Sunroof mode.
    • To switch back to Standard Mode, repeat the above.

As I worked in the former Soviet Union in the early 90s, I actually experienced the 'good old days'. I still have the remains of a roll of toilet paper I purchased back then which I keep to scare children with - that's it below.

No hole through the middle (cardboard tube being another opiate of the capitalists), suspicious flecks in the beige slightly-corrugated paper and I would estimate a surface smoothness about equal to 400 grit paper.

And the sad thing is, when I got a couple of rolls like this during a trip to Ukraine, I was really pleased....

Drifting back on topic, I'm really looking forward to the R57 easy-up, Dr O.
