Do you have auto climate controls, or manual?
With manual controls, the vents are purely mechanical. The control knob is physically attached to a cable that pulls on the vent mechanism. If you try to look from the passenger side under the dash and behind the center stack, you can see what happens when you turn the knob. However, to find the actual cause of the problem, I think you'll have to take a lot of things apart.

No, its a digital temp select

Noticed this today as well . Air flow won't switch to floor. Must not be common thing since this thread went dead. Any ideas? It's seem like the inside temp sensor may be going bad. Blows heat until its turned way down to like 60 degrees.

Having the same problem on 2011 Cooper
HVAC will act normal one day then can't select where air vents. Has anyone figured out this issue? Ours has Auto Climate Control. I'm going back to search the forum, any help would be appreciated! -
