Well, I just returned home from Best Motor Werks after having them replace my tmap sensor and all codes cleared.

I am happy to report the car feels faster. It recently was feeling heavy, which I thought it was just my added weight. However, I unintentionally broke the tires loose shifting into second. Been a while sense that has snuck up on me.

I also found out my road noise is not the camber plates or bad tires alone. I have a wheel bearing going out. So, next month I am going to try and have that done too.

Headed back to Best Motor Werks tomorrow to have a wheel bearing replaced. I am exited that it's going to be hot. Might see if the map sensor was the problem one and for all!

Kinda late to post this - glad everything worked out without too much expense. A simple way to test spark plug wires is with a Volt-Ohm Meter. Set the VOM for Ohms to test resistance and stick one lead in one end of the spark plug wire and the other lead in the other end. Overall resistance shouldn't exceed 10,000 ohms. Wiggle the wires a bit to see if you have a broken wire. Not sure what your VOM reads if the wire is broken, but you will know. Mine goes back to zero because it is not reading anything at that point. I also look as far down inside each boot to see if there is any visible problems.

Apparently it was wise that I had not been driving it. The bearing had ceased to the axle. Thankfully they were able to negotiate its freedom.

I guess you have been driving with that bad bearing for quite some time. Glad they got you squared away.

So, I think after 3 years of guessing, I might finally have an answer. I spoke with the great guys over at Best Motor Werks in Columbus about my car. They pulled the fuel filter and said it was extremely dirty! They wont be able to test drive it till after the weekend, but they are confident that is what is causing the issues. I will report back and let you everyone know.

That's what I was told the first time I had it into the dealer, so it was quickly taken off the list of potential causes it appears.

If MINI says its a "lifetime part" it is most likely the first thing that needs to be replaced. :p

Once you put the dealer on the list of possible causes a fix was found. Hope your MINI passes the road test.

Love those MINI lifetime parts & fluids. :eek:ut:
