It is a very nice upgrade over the R53 brakes.

Every R53 needs R56 brakes just like every r56 needs the sound of a Supercharger.

Wonder if it's much of an upgrade? One of my last mods a will be a BBK as soon as I need new brakes. Wilwoods number one on my list, how would the stock R56 compare to them? Anyone know?

The R56 calipers are essentially what was the R53 JCW upgrade, you would have to only upgrade to the R56 rotors and lines. For the R53 I would say its a nice upgrade and definately as I stated in the title.

    Very nice upgrade.

With the right pads, this is a better setup than a BBK for 99.78% of Miniacs.

You actually need 1st gen JCW lines, NOT 2nd gen lines, to fit these on a 1st gen car. Or custom lines with the R53 car end and the second gen MCS caliper end (which is the same thing as 1st gen JCW lines). Plus appropriate rotors.

Could someone please tell me what tap size the caliper end of these lines are? I have a ss braided set on the r56 calipers now and am about to replace the calipers and rotors with a set of 4 piston outlaws and 1.25x11.75 rotors and would like to tap the calipers to fit these lines.

    Thanks.

I'm going for a upgrade that WMW has that still fit's inside the stock 16" wheels and stainless braided Brake lines. I see a lot of folks going to the larger wheels but I have found a very light set of 16"x7" Konig's and plan on staying with the 16" size as you can find light wheels and as you go up in size the wheels get heavier and the sidewalls of the tires get smaller so that they will end up riding like the Run flats that I will be replacing as soon as the are gone with a better dedicated Summer tire and use the stock Daytona 5 spokes with a all season in winter.
