Thought I would share my fall wheel project here also. I originally posted it on NAM. I have been searching for a unique wheel at an affordable price to run fall through spring... and this is what I came up with.

I fell into a good deal on e30 BMW (BBS) 325ix wheels in 15x7 et41 4x100 hb 57.1, called style 5, basket weaves or whatever you want to call them. The hub bore is different from the mini 56.1, but with torqueing the wheels with the car in the air, I have never had a problem with other wheels.

Inspiration/ other cars that I found with a quick goooogle search:

R55 - "Only mods are KW V1 coil overs and 195/50/15 Toyo R888's on some old 15 inch euroweaves." From s14.net... Euroweaves are 15x7 et 24. See here for some pics North American Motoring - View Single Post - Show us your pictures of your R55 (Clubman) here

My car with over sized tires 195/65/15's (e30 sized) with stock suspension
compared to enkei bortex rpm2 in 18x7.5 with 225/40/18 also over sized

After cleaning all the track compound brake dust with some easy off oven cleaner they were pretty much down to primer so refinishing is in order for these. I got the tires off and started cleaning up the minor curb rash on the wheels. I was thinking of either a nogaro silver/gunmetal, semi gloss black or hyper black like my enkei wheels. The e30 bmw 325ix wheels weigh 16.8 pounds which isn't to bad for a late 1980's factory wheel.

I wish I would have taken before pictures, still not bad for 24 year old wheels with factory finish that were covered in a couple mils of track pad dust when I got them.

Since I already have a set of gold center/polished barrels on my e34, wife says that's enough... but I photoshop'd the style 5's on the mini..lol

NOTE- style 5's/bbs rc090's would not look like this on a mini, these wheels are 17x8 et20 with 15mm spacers on the e34 with 235/45's...

I got a quote for $40 per wheel from a local guy/shop that does coating for public clients on the side when they are slow...

Fast forward, I went with a dark silver metallic powder coat, which is comparable to nogaro silver. Since the wheels are fairly rare, the center caps are hard to find for cheap, they are 171mm diameter and came from ix and m3 wheels. So until I find some cheap, I am going to use some redbull can tops.

Wheels are on the car with 205/55/15 kuhmo ecsta 4x tires. Photos were right after it came off the jack stands. I'll get some more when it is a little better lighting and with another lens. So far I am liking the wheel and tire combo.

    can tops FTW!

As an e30 guy myself, I'm happy to see a set of euroweaves cleaned up and brought back into service!

...but the red bull can tops really stole the show for me! Great center cap and probably the lightest option ever!

i put a set of VW 15" bbs's on my mini for awhile that looked similar to these. just picked up some old 15" kosei's that I'm redoing now. Small wheels look great on r53's, Kudo's!!

Good awesome! Love the can top hub caps. A friend of mine that owns both an e30ix and R56 S has a set of e30xi AC Schnitzer Type 1s that he mounted on the R56. Look awesome. He's talking about finding a set of Alpinas for the R56.

Here is another friends e30 touring with alpina reps

Thanks! After putting a couple hundred miles on these, I really want to move to a 15x8 wheel set for summer. I really like the driving characteristics of the 15" wheels and the gearing, since moving back to a 24" tire.

Suspension is next on my list...
I have been keeping an eye out more on the e30 forums for odd ball wheels. I'd love to have a e30 touring and a mini both with alpina or Hartge bits.
