I was driving the car for a while, tried teaching my girlfriend how to drive it as well. Parked it fine and it wouldn't start again. The lights and everything turn on but the starter won't even click when I try to turn it on. So far I've checked the Clutch Safety Switch, new battery and terminals are fine, checked the ignition switch with a multimeter (it works fine), checked fuses and relays which were also fine. Any ideas? Clutch pedal is still firm might be a little less firm but I don't think it changed at all. Could be something to do with the starter, solenoid or the slave cylinder?
Possibly the Fuel Inertia Switch but from your description there is no reason why it would be causing the problem. Sorry but it’s the only thing that came to mind quickly.
Welcome to MA! What Dave said. Also check the ground wires, I believe you have one on top on the passenger side and one under the motor. It could be a bad started. It seems like some one here had a generator go bad and he was unable to start his Mini. The slave cylinder would not cause this problem.
Damn I am getting old! Thanks Dave. I have spent touch time getting the electrical system working on that old bike.
