Here is another price shocker from Jan 1st this year-the replacement N14 engine which has been 4300ish for years is now 7199.00-we are back to repairing them instead of plugging in a new one with 2 yr warranty. But with the price escalation in the HPFP I see more and more N14 cars going away as people trade them in on hondas, etc

    This is insanity.....
If people knew the chances that MINI would gouge them on replacement parts it might change their mind if they were considering buying a new MINI...

Hmmmmm..... Wonder what I could get for my MINI if I sold it for parts?

    Conspiracy theory in full effect.

N14 motor has been plagued with problems and MINI has been in denial for years to the point of stiffing the customer as often as they can when they could follow the fine line of the law or the warranty.

Now the are held accountable to the timing chain issue and the have a large amount of potential fixes coming at them.

However? MINI has not been able to crack the code. "Owner love for the product. "

How to fix that? Artificially raise prices on replacement parts until owners say the heck with it and dump the car.

    There, they fixed the glitch.
