My center tube will also be 2-1/2" just like the tubing used on the exhaust pipe, except it will be perforated, 1/8" holes on 3/16" staggered centers (40% open) .060" wall T304 stainless steel. The chambers would be created with 3-13/16" OD discs welded to the perforated tube creating multiple chambers the length of the muffler. These chambers could be filled with high temperature insulation or scrubble. Or, the inserts could be completely removed for special track days.

Hah.....
Yeah guys, this is all just a little experiment. If it turns out being a dud, well then all the bits and pieces get chopped up and get recycled into something like a bed pan or fence post. The scrap dealer will be happy and I'll end up with a few coins in my pocket. -

I've got a splitting headache.
They gave me a special cocktail of valium and something else. Put me right into LaLa land.
Doc said he doesn't want to see me for another 5 years.
Great and wonderful experiences to all you folks that are hitting 50 and over.:cryin: -

Ha.....
So I'm laying there on the gurney....
I see this "snake" that I'm soon to have a personal meeting with.
Now this thing can flex, it can take pictures , has a headlight and it even has a pair of snapping jaws.
So I'm thinking...... Damn, where can I get one of those. This thing might be just the answer for snaking down to nibble off the carbon buildup on the DI intake valves on the R56. -

Hah....
Anyone notice how my thread slid off the road into the weeds?
I'll bring it back once I start the build.
So far I have a 12' length of 2-1/2" T304 SS tubing in hand.
Next week I should have an 8' length of the same thing with 40% open perforations.
So far I haven't located the SS flex joint I'm looking for. I can find an 8" and a 6" long unit, but I'm really looking for something a little shorter with all SS construction. If anyone knows where I can locate one, give me a shout.
Chuck
