Actually do look pretty good, fills that big area where MINI decided to use pea-shooter double walled tips. :frown5:

I was looking up under our CM the other day (warm day) and noted the entire CM exhaust system is pretty under-whelming, not going to pay $800+ for the MINI sport exhaust, no, no, no... :incazzato:

Now back to MMs thread. :)

MM, I just heard a commercial on the radio where the mechanic was telling the lady that her "muffler bearings" needed to be replaced. I thought about your project and wanted to be sure you have considered them.

My design totally eliminates the need for muffler bearings. MB are so yesterday's technology. But thanks for asking. :D

I also have a bottle of "prop wash" and a "left handed sky hook", should he need them. Can't find my roll of "flight line".

I have to tell you Dave they suck. I tried using their lowering kit on my runflats & nothing! What a waste of money. :mad2:

Although I am a satisfied user of their cross drilled brake lines.

It's been crazy busy at work and haven't had a lot of time to do much on my custom exhaust. But I did get the exhaust flanges made. Here they are in 3/8" thick T304 SS.

Ok, this weather has been getting me down, I've been slammed with jobs at work that have been pulling me away from my pet project. It was kinda nice today, so I decided to run down to the shop and work on my project.

It's been kind of bothering me that maybe 4" diameter exhaust tips would be too large. I was leaning towards maybe down sizing them to something like 3-1/2" tubing. So with that in mind, I went ahead and whipped up a set of fake tips just to get a feeling how two 4" tips would look. I cut down some 4" SS tubing to a 3-1/2" length. Put them on my lathe and did some quick polishing to get the finish I'm after.

Here are the SS polished tips.

Then with a spacer made out of aluminum foil and some duct tape... Instant fake tips.

Slipped them over the stock tips.

    Top view.

    3/4 view.

    Whatever view.

    Little farther back view.

    Sooooo....
I'm thinking 4" might be OK???? Give me some feedback here people. What do you think, go with 4"?
