    Amen to that.....
    I've closed those flaps several times and they seem to keep popping open. They also don't seem to be water tight. Absolutely not a good spot to store a spare MINI key.

    I had the panels installed today. My dealer said that I'm the only MINI he's seen with these panels. Interesting, I thought they were standard on all JCWs? Guess not. Anyways I feel real special now :rolleyes:

    I'm thinking if you got the factory installed JCW aero kit they were part of the package. If not, they weren't.

    Correct, it's the FACTORY Aero Kit that gets the panels. Also, it seems some of the Euro MINIs got these w/o the Aero Kit as there was a guy on the other site with a regular Cooper and no Aero Kit that posted a pic.

    David, have you confirmed that your MINI doesn't have them?

    Mine is a US version so no panels installed, not saying they won't be on there tomorrow:cornut: but today they are not.
    So this is what I figure, since the European JCW's are delivered with the aero they have them from the factory. Since ALL U.S. Aero installs are done at the port, they only get the bumpers and skirts. I an not sure there will be much benefit under 70mph but that is also the point where the Aero front bumper starts to make a difference.

    I am looking forward to this. :)

    Ok, someone tell me I am crazy... At about 50mph, the car now feels smoother, it takes bumps better, it seems quieter.. This can't be true with such a simple mod...
    I will post pics up later.

    I'm glad you posted this because I kind of noticed the same thing. Weird huh?:D I think it's the lack of buffeting air under the MINI. Smoother air flow.:Thumbsup:

    It's all good. You should also notice a slight bump in gas mileage as well.

    Yeah, those two brackets go on the very rear of the panels. They were kind if tricky to figure out because they are shaped slightly different.
    If you want, I'll snap pic's tonight showing where they mount. I figured I paid for them so I might as well use them.
    Oh..... By the way, the two brackets prevent "fluttering" of the panels at around 215 mph, it can be quite disconcerting if left off. :D

    My dealer said I was missing a couple of parts but they didn't affect anything. Interesting cause I ordered mine kit from the items listed at the RealOEM (RealOEM.com   BMW R56 Coop.S JCW Underfloor coating) and it doesnt show anything like that.

    It's bracket #5 as a left hand and right hand part. I suggest you get them and mount them. Knowing MINI, they had these parts made for a reason.

    Ok David and Rixter, here you go....

    The top of both brackets attach to a special hole that is tapped by the special bolt (thread forming, as I recall). These holes are in the rear suspension sub frame. The cross member you would normally loosen to change out the rear swaybar.

    Here is a pic of the bracket on the drivers side. [​IMG]

    Here is the pic of the bracket on the passenger side.

    And as you can see, they both screw into the cone looking bump at the rear of each underpanel.

    Notice the driver side bracket mounts on the subframe surface facing the front of the vehicle. The passenger side bracket mounts on the subframe bottom (that's why they look slightly different).

    Or a better bracket description.....
    "L" bracket on the drivers side.
    "C" bracket on the passenger side.

    I figured it was in the tight spot between the tank and the sub frame. I felt the hole up in there but the angle I was at it was going to be a pita. I just need to remember to do it when I do my skid plate. :)
