A little OT here, but has anyone tried fitting the R56 panels on an R53?

Go all the way back to post #5 on this thread that Batrugger made. I'm thinking he used them with a slight modification.

You have a great memory MM. Way to stay on top of things. I will have to add this to my list with the mpg and noise reduction thing.

sorry it doesn't work that easy. The Challenge car has a special CD parts catalog, you can't just order by their VIN. Oh and wait till you get the prices, they are CRAZY EXPENSIVE.

Go to "sponsors", scroll down the "G4 Aero Sports". There is a thread here someplace about folks who got them.

Interestingly I was somehow distracted by one auto article that lead to another thant led to something about the Chevy Cruze. They offer a specific 'Eco' model which gets better fuel economy. On the GM site they discuss how the Eco model differs from the regular. It was noteworth 2 particular points:
■A lower front air dam extension, extensive use of underbody panels and a rear spoiler enhance aerodynamics
■A lowered ride height improves aerodynamics

Using the same logic, a lowered MINI, with JCW cow-catcher and underbody panels should see improved fuel economy. That is unless you use the new 'features' as an excuse to drive faster :D

    Yeah....
The great thing about this mod, for every mile you drive the fuel savings help pay for the under-panels. Eventually they become freeeeeeeee!

So Ahhh...... Don't tell everyone about it.

    Yeah....
Batrugger went into some of what he did to adapt.
I have a feeling when gasoline pops back up to $4.00 a gallon (Hmmmm think it might?), there will be a mad run in these underpants (yeah, that's what I said.... underpants). Bet they might be hard to get. Glad mine are on. :D

    Thanks Rixter!

Hey Chuck keep those underpants on! With $4 a gallon gas it is going to feel like being bent over at each fill up. Glad I drive a small car.

    I'm with you David.
The best part about this mod... it doesn't use any parasitic power to make you MINI faster.
