I have the same on my '08 MCS. I can't speak to the specifics, except to say that the rear antisway bars are 18.5mm which is the same model as on the JCW

Check out realOEM.com. The standard antisway bars listed there are 22 mm front and 17 rear. The JCW bars are listed as 24 front and 18.5 rear. Unfortunately the spring specs are not shown.

The springs are sized based on the options that came with your MINI (weight).

    Standard vs Sport Suspension

:D Thanky'all very much. Every little bit helps and now I know that I just may have erred in measuring the rear sway bar. This is a very friendly and helpful site. I've got several posts and haven't been told that I'm an idiot yet.(okay I've set y'all up. You can call me an idiot now.) Jason

Where did you see that? Sport suspension is the same height as standard suspension. The JCW suspension (dealer installed, purchased separately) is about 1/4" lower.

Sport suspension has different springs, shocks, and both sway bars. JCW suspension includes yet another different set of all those components.

BTW, just making sure there isn't confusion about it... the dealer JCW (engine) kit doesn't include JCW suspension.

No, that's not correct. There are 3 suspensions offered by MINI:

    1. Factory standard suspension
    2. Factory sport suspension (struts, springs, sway bars stiffer then standard)
    3. Dealer installed JCW suspension (struts, springs, sway bars even stiffer than factory sport suspension)

Okay this has me interested. I picked the Sport Suspension option with mine and I am curious to know the actual ratings on the suspsension.

When I test drove one with and one without I could feel the difference in stiffness and it seemed like the sport had better turn-in though I am far from an expert there.

There is only one JCW suspension. Sometimes "Sport" is used in the name, sometimes not, but it refers to the same thing.

    Sport vs Standard Suspension

Okay guys here's the latest word from the parts dept @ Mini of Dallas. Standard Susp-front sway 22.5mm,rear sway 17mm, standard struts Sport Susp-front sway 23.5mm,rear sway18mm, front and rear struts heavier and different part # from standard JCW Susp-front sway 24mm, rear sway 18.5mm,struts marked JCW and heavier than sport and have extra strut bump stops  I think that this all the info that we'll be able to get from MINI. But I believe there's the stock JCW suspension and then there's the upgraded Sport suspension for about $1K (excluding installation) (Morristown MINI)

According to RealOEM, here's the parts for the JWC suspension http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.do?model=MF93&mospid=50964&hg=31&fg=10 and then here's the parts for the JCW Sport suspension http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=MF93&mospid=50964&btnr=31_0806&hg=31&fg=95. The struts are listed as seperate parts

The dealer-installed item called "JCW Sport suspension" on the RealOEM and Morristown MINI sites is the only "JCW" suspension available.

A factory JCW S is fitted with the exactly same suspension as a regular S (either standard or sports suspension). You're just misunderstanding the title at the top of the RealOEM page. It says "R56 Coop.S JCW" because that's the model you selected. It will say that on the top of every page. Compare the actual part numbers between a
    regular R56 S: RealOEM.com BMW R56 Cooper S Stabilizer, front
    R56 JCW S: RealOEM.com BMW R56 Coop.S JCW Stabilizer, front

Another newb question: I'm seeing strut info and sway-bar info. Does that mean the spring rates are the same?

Part 2 of the Newb question: Are the sport springs a progressive rate or linear?

    *zips up newbie flame suit*

Whether the sprigns are progressive or linear is a moot point, since you will be using the progressive foam bumpstops as part of your spring rate essentially 100% of the time.

I see that you can get the red JCW Suspension Spring kit now. Lowers the car by 12mm.

    JCE Suspension Spring Kit

ESC Tuning has them for $94 each.

    Seams like an interesting mod.
