Yeah, you're right, there's no reason to go back 10 years, you'd have to go back farther than 10 years, maybe 20 or so, to get to the NSX, or any other car for that matter that you actually drive without more assistance than your average nursing home...
I guess it's just me, but I prefer a driver that makes the car look great, rather than a car that makes the driver look great.-

You can build it up and beat the S**t out of it and it will ask for more.
If you add the soul of an R53 to an R56 you will just have a great running car that's just butt ugly.:lol::lol:-

:cornut: Thanks so much every one. These days laughter is the best medicine and this crowd can dish it out with a spade and a smile and still they get their message through after I get back into my chair from rolling on the floor.:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

OTOH-the N14 NEW from MINI engines are quite robust-I am now at 2000 miles and counting on our shop car with no oil useage and it is running great. see my garage and build threads for ongoing updates. new from MINI list price 4296.00 currently, complete from valve cover to oilpan, includes new water pump and thermostat and spark plugs. swap on your manifolds and wiring harness, add oil and go

Do the walnuts and the kerfuffle have to be mixed or can they be eaten separately?

Not sure of the smog laws in Texas? But here in Kalifornia, that wouldn't fly, never pass smog. You can't even replace a engine here with all electric, still wouldn't pass emissions  "Where do I stick the sensor in?"

I'd look for an N18 engine, it makes more HP, better valve control with double vanos, better fuel economy, no issues with timing chains or burning oil etc and it will fit right in with no modifications. The N18 engine is all aluminum, so it will be lighter than the supercharged engine too.
