Did you say 2000 miles? Not much of a long term experiment? We owned a R56, so we like the car but, still have no confidence in the motor. I mean really, my mechanics car now has 260,000 miles on it, it's a 06 MCS, still with the original SC, and doesn't make a sound, just changed the original clutch just last month, now that's long term  But I do believe you are right, it's his only option at this point, good price too

You totally missed the point, or are making a rather poor attempt at sarcasm. If it's the former, I simply do not have the time, patience, or desire to help you improve you reading and comprehension skills. If it's the latter, I humbly submit you stick with you day job, your future in comedy is about as promising as Dennis Rodman's is in diplomacy, although not nearly as interesting.

As usual, are complaining about the discussion rather than adding anything to it. It's really not worth responding to you anymore beyond that, in this or any other thread.

    Did you catch the "anymore"?

    Guess not.

Truth is I'm amused more than angry.

The same people complaining about members loving the R53 are the same ones complaining about members loving the R53 in a thread starting off with an inquiry about an R53 engine swap...Go figure.

    Yawn.

Disclaimer: That is in no way a panty twisting personal assault on anyone's race, religion, sexual orientation, personal hygiene, hair color, dentition or lack thereof, just merely a yawn. Nothing more, nothing else, other than the fact that I'm tired. I'll refrain from reporting on any other bodily functions out of respect for these boards and it's members.

Well this went no place in hurry.

Jason, you like the car enough you want to keep it for a long time. Then put funds away as you can to keep it maintained meticulously at your favorite shop. Say hello to Gene for me. The engine will eventually become a lump, put funds aside to replace with the same as it is now too.

Then again, something else may catch your automotive eye in the future, then you'll have funds stashed away for that instead.

On another note the R53 bias that has reared it's ugly head needs to simmer down some. Soon we'll be welcoming F56 owners to the site. Hold your vitriol then please too, give the car some time, who knows, the fish mouth might just surprise us all.

I think we can all move on from here please.

    Thank you,

    Management :prrr:

90% percent of what I write is with a grain of salt, 20% isn't; 14% of R56 owners don't get that, but 97% percent do. Do the math, it's simple...

If you pull too much of the enthusiasm out, you run the risk of becoming NAM.

Rule to live by: it's the car we're critical of, not the owner. Yeah, I've broken that rule before, but the truth is there a many, many r56 owners on here I "like" (in quotations only because I know very few people on here personally, just through banter in the forums) and would be missed if they weren't in the community, and there are a few r53 owners I could live without (I have no problem with the fact that that feeling is mutual). It has nothing to do with the cars, and everything to do with the owner as far as the community is concerned, IMHO.

OK, off the soapbox, I'm out on this one.

:cornut: Nathans vote is if you love it that much leave it in the drive way to look at and find an R53 to rebuild/play with.

I don't understand what you're saying here.....are you saying older cars like the NSX are too easy to drive?

Are you saying that older cars like the NSX make the driver look good?

Are you saying that older cars like the NSX require nursing assistance to drive, or that new cars do?

Enquiring minds want to know! :D

Mind, I was only talking about replacing the engine with a more modern version of what he has, rather than completely re-engineering the car to take an engine 10 years older than what he has.

And did you all miss the part where he said he loves the car he now has, he's just looking at what to do if the engine fails?

Cause this R53 broken record is getting tiresome to hear, and there are fewer good R53's out there everyday - they don't make 'em like that anymore, remember?

Maybe you need to improve your reading and comprehension skills first., cct1

In the OP's post he asked whether it would be possible or even a good idea to put the engine from an R53 in his R56.

Most people responded with the typical answer - R53, meaning go buy an R53 and don't bother with that pos R56. Just as Th3stig posted above, whatever the question the answer is always the same.

I said rather than buy an engine 10 years old, perhaps he should go with the newer and improved version of what he already had. Then CCT1 went off on his NSX tangent, what the hell did that have to do with what was being discussed?

And when I asked cct1 what he meant by his ridiculous off topic comment, I get accused of all sorts of nasty things.

I do not personally deride others on this site but I seem to be the frequent target of such behavior, I don't know what I did to piss you people off but I'm tired of being the butt of your comments. How about we stick to the topic and leave the personal snide remarks out of it?

Yet again MiniDave still does not get the point. If everyone is having an issue with you maybe it's not them that's the problem, try looking in the mirror.

Jason just keep you car the way it is and take care of it because every R56 (N14) is like a baby. It needs lots of attention, care, and it's a$$ wiped just like most R56's.

    Don't forget the walnuts.
