So my r60 had a check engine, i replaced both vanos, timing chain tensioner, dmtl pump and did and oil chance. Erased the codes and it went back on limp mode with 2 codes unrelated to the previous one (28b0 and 2714) if i start the car and take it super easy on the pedal it doesn’t go limp, but the moment i do limp mode kicks and i can’t pass 3k rpm. Anyone has any idea. Please and thanks in advance.
Scan the car again and look at what the codes are listing this time. Also, more info about your car would help. (Year, Milage and mods)
Agree with Dave.0 more information is needed. What you describe sounds like faulty turbo, I had two. replaced under warranty, the intake tubing will sometimes develop a crack, causing similar fault / half power mode. Our 2011 finally was fully cured with a replacement exhaust vanos valve, but I am suspected we had mutliple issues. I even took the aftermarket intake system back to stock and it did not cure the issues. We are clean now, other than a leaking crankshaft seal at 77K. More inforation, verbage from you scan tool and the codes and have you had the computer reset with the MINI technicians deep reset options, basically everything clean. Welcome to MA! P2714 - Pressure Control Solenoid 'D' Performance/Stuck Off I cant find the other code. Are you sure you got everything plugged back in correctly? I would check all the connections also check all the hoses and tubes
2012 stock 6 speed s all4. Im getting the diverter valve replaced tomorrow again i erased the codes I previously had and does 2 popped
Im pretty sure i did and the harness is 2 yrs old so no faulty conections there tomorrow since i got to work on it ill recheck im praying is done deal
Update just replaced the diverter valve and air filter. No fix codes are 28b0 (throttle valve: emergency operation active mode) guessing thats limp mode, and 2714 ( throttle valve , function: sluggish , too slow.) no other code. Si far replased both vanos,timing tensioner, oil change, dmtl pump,air filter and diverter valve check the wiring everything seems to be in place. Pray for me
Just asking, has the High Pressure Fuel pump been replaced on this 9K car, check if the dealer will cover under old warranty. I think a recall put it out to 100K
The plastic pip that goes from the intercooler to the intake can get splits in them. Check for small brakes in the intake piping also.
It could. I had one pop loose once. I had the car at red line when I closed the throttle the sudden excess pressure caused one to come loose and it went into limp mode.
Update on my nightmare. Took the intake off cleaned throttle body, rechecked all plugs, plastic hoses. Limp mode still kicking in on my way to the parts store to check the codes.
Be aware the reader the parts store has will only read generic codes. It will not pick up those secret BMW/MINI codes. I'm not sure what code reader you need, but there people here who know. Hang tight someone will chime in with the answer. Welcome to M/A
Apparently need auto logic reader wich is like 20k so nobody spends $ here in fl however the part store gave me different codes wich is interesting because one is for intake vanos so next step swich them to see if the code goes to exhaust
