Welcome to M/A! There was quite a discussion on code readers on here recently, regarding the best ones, the easiest to use, the costs, etc. I am sure you could look this info up here on M/A, or ask MCS02 [aka Lee], since he has had experiences with them and can maybe suggest a good one that will not break your bank.
@Freddy valentin here is the code reader I have https://www.amazon.com/FOXWELL-Automotive-Diagnostic-Transmission-Registration/dp/B019QCG5RE/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=Foxwell+Mini+code+reader&qid=1590086737&sr=8-7 It will read all the BMW/MINI codes, including ABS. You can also control systems to test them and data log. It will even fire the ABS unit so you can bleed it. @Dave.0 uses one that works with a PC with that one you can even code. It is a more extensive system. I am sure he will be along to tell what the name of it. I am getting old and cant remember.
New update took it to a certified bmw mini tech and as i suspected throttle body seems to be done. Order a new one should get it tomorrow and hoping for it to be done
Update . DONE!!! After 800$ and going around at least i kno that parts that were about to go, have been replaced soooo. Spark plugs, air filter, both vanos or vvt, diverter valve , timing chaing tensioner, dtml pump, and last but not least expensive throttle valve spring was too loose so it took the limp away. Have the chek engine on but going to the shop later to reset and see if anything else should be replaced. Hopefully not but for now this headache is solved
Update now that the car is working was able to finish a custom box for sub without compromising a lot of cargo space
