    Guys,
Need suggestions in Hardwiring Escort Passport in my 2012 Coupe
I got the smartcort and add-a-circuit kit. I installed it in F44 ( Cigarette lighter), Everything works fine.
But then then problem comes. In closing the FuseBox.
Becoz of the size of add-a-circuit, i am unable to close the fusebox.
Can anyone suggest me, what to do to fix this.

You need to tap the fuse with the fuse in the slot then run the wire to an inline fuse. They make little brass taps for doing it.

The tap you have not designed to work in kick panel fuse blocks with doors that cover them.

Those are for fuse blocks without covers up under the dash or trucks with recessed fuse boxes.

It would be better to tap a switched line away from the fuse box and solder into it the line.

What I did was similar to what Dave said. I used a hot side and in line fuse.

When I hardwired the Garmin in my '07 I tapped into the cigarette lighter circuit under the console. And, as suggested by others used an inline fuse.

The add a fuse worked great for me. Maybe more room in an R53?
