You need to tap the fuse with the fuse in the slot then run the wire to an inline fuse. They make little brass taps for doing it.
The tap you have not designed to work in kick panel fuse blocks with doors that cover them.
Those are for fuse blocks without covers up under the dash or trucks with recessed fuse boxes.
It would be better to tap a switched line away from the fuse box and solder into it the line.
