Texas is big on using Policemen as tax collectors. The main route from Dallas to Amarillo is a state route, mostly rather rural. As one approaches a town speed limits drop rather quickly from 70 - 45 - 25. Often with the local deputy hidden right there at the sign posts. All municipalities use a scale to determine how much to fine you, based on how many miles per hour over the speed limit you were going, but the scale is different for each locality. Most of these little towns rape you with it not uncommon to drop $200 for being only 10 over.

I use the V1. Definitely saved me many times. I only bought it over the Escort because I liked the idea of the arrows. Now Escort has them. Not that I'm inclined to drop $650. https://www.escortradar.com/max360/

After reading the owners manual I see a couple of disadvantages with this model of Escort - (1) it can track up to four independent signals but can't display a count of signals beyond that number like the V1; (2) the false alarm rejection software, GPS filter, and self-learning feature are seemingly designed to work with static sources only, which wouldn't help with the onerous and growing problem of moving K Band blind spot detection systems (the new V1 software has supposedly addressed this but I have no first-hand knowledge of how effective it is).

Looks like the V1/Escort 360/max2/max/redline are very comparable from a performance bases. It really comes to down to personal preference regarding the bells and whistles that you desire.

Now, what about laser jamming. It seeming that only ALP protects against all laser guns (Dragon Eye).

Has anyone install the ALP system? What are your thoughts?
