PERU, IN, July 7, 2009: The opening day of competition at the Tire Rack® SCCA Peru National Tour may have been a soggy one, but that didn’t stop drivers from 29 states and two Canadian provinces from attacking the courses at Grissom Aeroplex. With dry weather on Sunday, many drivers were desperate to make up for time lost in the rain, providing several miraculous finishes.

In H Stock, Jimmy Crawford, of Milwaukee, Wis., held a slim lead over Jeff Jacobs, of Philadelphia, Pa., after day one. Driving the MiniUSA.com/Helix MINI Cooper, Jacobs put the hammer down on day two, forcing Crawford to push his car to the limit. Crawford’s valiant attempts in a datatoys.com in-car video systems MINI Cooper ended with a cone on his final run and Jacobs taking the win.
