Nice rules interpretation. What if the plates add more negative camber than you want? Is there a work around you can squeak by with? How often is your car run through a legality check?

Here the competitors are really picky because the rally times are so close per car on the stages. example: I had a shop vac pipe running from the left side hole on the front bumper to the power steering pump to get some cooling in there. No one bothered with it until we started setting good stage times. Then a fellow competitor mentioned that the pipe would get me excluded if the folks I beat see it! It passed tech like that but if anyone wants to get picky they will find something for sure.

I said that with the skid plate the PSP could catch fire but I was told rules are rules yet I see other crimes far worst than the hose.

I run a skid plate too. The reason being I was afraid of straddling a curb & cracking that fine cast aluminium oil pan open. Never thought much about the heat, but that would explain why I've had 3 PS cooling fans on my MINI.

I do like the PS on the Mini as it fights the LSD kicks but a manual rack would be better. Hey Modfather, want Lotus rack will you use?

You would need to talk to Colin at RMW for the adapters, but its a Lotus Elise/Exige S2 rack. Sector 111 (Lotus aftermarket company) has a quicker ratio box that is even lighter than the Lotus OE...

you missed the K! hahaha actually the jolly TSA threw out my struts due to they said they were dirty! I've been taking car parts to CR for 6 years so that's a first for me. I'll give a clean for next months visit. Must have been a off day for the TSA agent.

I think so beacuase I brought with the exact same suspension last month! worst part is I paid $40 for the second bag which arrived empty to CR. Looks like I'll be emailing United on that.

Unlike the East Coast the weather was just right for some Mini work. I welded the exhaust as it was catching on the body. Then built a small tool to take off the tension while I changed the alternator belt. I'm not using an A/C or A/C idle gear so the change is pretty quick with this tool......now the cold start squeals are gone!

    The tool

Fits in a hole on the tensioner arm, then I turn the nut to wind it up.

New belt on the left v's deep worn out grooves on the right.

Great tool to have in your kit. I didn't realize cold starts were possible in Costa Rica. :)

With no suspension to play with until the next visit I found myself with a free weekend! shock/horror! So I accepted a BBQ offer with co-workers.....which just happened to be at a farm on a lonely gravel road! haha which meant 2 co-workers are convinced rally drivers are insane!

Just ordered 4 new spherical joints from Helix for the lateral arms 2 to replace some wear and 2 for spares.

There is a Pre season show at the Hard Rock cafe on Thursady so it looks like the new rally board are stepping up.

That's funny becuase I was thinking last night I have not taken any monkey photo's. I think the monkey's got bored of seeing the box out of the car again. They seem to like the fun stuff, like the suspension.
