on a sad note the female bird in the photo went missing leaving the poor male wandering around crying looking for her., I feed him with bread when I'm there.

seeing as the WRX roof wing is toast I thought to look for something else used. I want something like the WRC Mini but it has to be something like a product Mini sells. How about the M7 C wing?

Back on the subject of the wing. I see what you mean about the M7 C wing. I thought the side plates were attached to the hatch but I see they are free from any support. On a rally that wing would hanging off after a couple of stages. Anyway M7 have some end plates and a old top wing I can play with. I was thinking of narrowing it so the end plates attach to the hatch.

Thanks for reading, it has been a long journey which is about to start again.

Yesterday I got to drive the Mini home finding now I have a Mini crab! I went to the shop after work to get the alignment sorted. Yes it was way off! driving home seemed better but I noticed metal rattling down near my feet so maybe the suspension or buh is broken as this was the corner that took the first impact. Because of that I decided not to drive the Mini until I've done a full check over. Also other minor stuff needs to be done due to my super picky standards..LOL

One BIG problem is the VIN number is missing from the windscreen window because they fitted a new screen. Is the VIN number in that area a sticker or stamped on the chassis? I ask because this is the only proof on the VIN on the Mini. The VIN number on the strut tower was rusted away and removed when I fitted the STI strut tops. Without the windscreen VIN number I can't do the annual tech test or rally.

One thing I noticed was I did not have the gear set ratios. They sent them to me, I did the calculations and found out with my 5:1 final drive 5th would be good for 82mph at 7000rpm! all the gears are super close together but 82mph is not going to be much good seeing as I'm doing 110mph on some straights. I need to get the Gripper 4:2 final drive to get 98mph which still might be a little short. Just the pro's and con's of the set up.

The gear box casing is cleaned and packed in my check in bag. I have the M7 aluminium side plates and wing. The wing has the same casting all the way through so I think I can cut a few inches off , re-tap the threads and attach the side plates to the rear hatch.

Yes the guys did a good job but I think it will take me a while to get the mini back to the way it was. Just little things but they add up in time. hahaha on the smoke.

I hope so. Once I get down to CR...Volcano permiting. [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptIRa_-sDAY"]Costa Rica volcano spews ash in most powerful eruption in 20 years - YouTube[/ame] I can check the large selection of Mini synchro's to see what need. Interesting is this kit is cheaper than buying the gears from Mini.

Might have to clean some ash of the Mini too! How many other Mini owners have that to do?

The production M-Garbage coffee table wing does the same... And it takes less MPH to get it to go floppy. :(
