Things happen for a reason. The Mo Joe's decals if removed would remove the paint requiring a full paint which the Mini just got. Mo Joe's just folded so we hunt yet again for another backer. Ho hum

Depending on the sanctioning body, scrutineers may only be required/allowed to check for safety related items.
It is up to the competitors to self-police for cheaters.
Guess as long as winning a trophy is more important than their reputation, cheaters will continue.

If there is racing there will be cheaters.:yesnod: Back when I raced the scrutineers did look for legality items. They'd make a note in the logbook & it would have to be changed before the car hit the track for the next race. It was up to other competitors to protest, most didn't because they were not squeaky clean either.

About 15 years ago I had a trip to Mexico. I was in to working out at the time. In my bag was a baggy of creatine (a white power). So we land at around 5 or 6 am. We had to wake the customs guy. half asleep he opened my bag first. There on top was the baggy. I thought he was going to have a hart attack.

Thanks chaps my pleasure, without your help I'm sure the Mini would still be off the road in the shop, I put you on my side so you're with me and the Costa Rica rally on the co-drivers side. All I'm waiting for is the EminiParts decals because the decals guy didn't make them! Duh...

Thanks Jeff, looks like I have a ton of goodies waiting for me!

That was an expensive weekend! LOL but looking on the positive side we were the lucky ones! There were 14 very good teams iin the rally and looking at the results nearly everyone had a problem so our issue was minor compared to what could have been.

Currently I don't know what the problem is. I had some issues Friday night with the Vee belt which I replaced, I filled up with fuel at Total on Friday . Saturday morning the engine started like normal, I drove 200 meters then the engine went onto 3 cylinders. that is how the engine remained all day. The strange thing is I can stop the engine and start it like normal but when reaching 2000rpm the engine goes on 3 cylinders. Also it is not the same cylinder each time I start the engine.

Saturday I drained all the fuel, changed the spark plugs, injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter and did a code check to find nothing wrong. I did not have a spare 02 sensor so I'm thinking the bad fuel fried the sensor. Yes I will be contacting Total!

All the detail are in the 1st Gen Cooper section so I bore you will the details. The only rally in CR was the one I missed! They just canceled the season due to planning and lack of cars. Hopefully 2016 will be better! Meanwhile I'm counting the days until I can drive the Mini again.

I was looking for options: like convert it into a BBQ/Jacuzzi Old Seat car transformed to Jacuzzi - WhereCoolThingsHappen or maybe some place to keep bird or some other creature.

Now I know why I was having issues with the gears on the day of the rally. Last night while testing for the misfire the throw out bearing let go! At first I thought the engine was going to explode! I had the engine running at 3500rpm for about 10 mins with a stick on the throttle. I was listening to the engine when this metallic noise started and got worse. I thought the head was about to explode, so I dipped the clutch and all was quiet. I suppose the competition pressure plate expired the throw out bearing? So even if I find the misfire I can't drive the Mini....looks like gearbox off again! LOL
