Thanks Jerry, I ask Nathan to stop the donations with the calender sales. The donations and support were a surprise and greatly appreciated but i felt there was a time limit. The funds allowed us to be back in the 2015 championship. Without the help I know the Mini would still be like it was. Once we get the roof I'm sure a couple of weeks will see the Mini back on the road. Then we plan to sell stuff in CR to buy the suspension. Merry Christmas to all!

Seems the roof went AWOL???? Mmmm nothing I can sort until I get there on Jan 4th, no worries as the glass is not showing up until Jan 25th. While I have time I'm trying to sort the suspension and gearset for the future. rs-X // racing solutions do a straight cut gear set for the MA box for $1500 and I think I can get some STI gravel inserts for the front for $150 each. Then I need to sort the rear. All in good time. A Mini owner just shipped a complete Midlands for the cost of the shipping only. cooooool

Next visit to CR will be bags packed of stuff to sell. 2015 the Mini will be back better than before. I'm also on the hunt for new sponsors. We can do it!

Good to hear minus the missing roof.

seeing as the WRX roof wing is toast I thought to look for something else used. I want something like the WRC Mini but it has to be something like a product Mini sells. How about the M7 C wing?

You need a BIG wing to keep the rear tires planted. Your last wing gave you lift.

They are pretty much junk, but with modification to the end plates and a long set of turnbuckles with attachments to the rear glass, to hold the back of the wing from sagging it could work for you.

The concept was good, just M7 didnt use any thought for mounting it. Every one of them I have seen installed flops around like a fish at street speeds because of the weight of the wing plus the drag and air resistance placed on the two M8 studs and tape that holds it on.

FU, gave MINI's an FU, and pulled out of the market.

Adding vertical supports to the C-wing's blade wont solve the issue. Its the base that will rock on the hatch due to the off center weight of the wing being mounted to a curved surface with only 2 small studs. The only way I could think to solve the problem would be to mount turnbuckles to the rear edge of the end plates, then down to the glass to give it some support. I would also re drill the mounting holes for the blade, dropping the front edge as low as possible to the roof keeping the rear high but adjustable to limit drag. Think of the air dam wing on the back of a Lancia Delta HF rally car. ;)

Yes I've always thought that too. That little Group A rally car really went fast even with that air brake deployed. Maybe it was Marko Alain's right foot mashed to the floor that was the reason.

depends on what I can find used at a good price. Most likely I'll go with the WRX again but raked more like the Lancia.

I did watch Rally GB and one of the Polo's lost the rear spoiler which made the car handle really bad. So those WRC spoilers do work.

You could always fab up a custom one that will work while your roof is off. This way it would be secure and not flop around like the M7 or FU GP knock off wings.

It maybe cheaper in the end and it will be functional.
