I hope so! I've just ordered some King springs for the front struts from a rally buddy, they are about 30% stiffer seeing as I'm not exactly sure what spring rate I currently have up front.

I always think things happen for a reason. Battery died today! lucky it was not on the rally. Looking to get an optima yellow top if I can get a good price.

I ended up with the Red top 34R as they didn't have the Yellow top...delivered and fitted for $300! ouch..but saying the engine seems to run better now. Anyway I had to work Saturday and made use of Sunday to fit the King springs to the front struts, bleed the brakes and check everything. All seems well for the weekend. Rally meeting tonight.

So the week continues with the state test passed...thanks to fiberglass packed in the muffler! While waiting for the test the electrics died and came back. A first , so after the test I drove home and while taking out the fiberglass the electrics cut again. My volt meter gauge read zero so I thought maybe the new battery fitting might have moved something? Checked that, nothing . then I thought I'd check the kill switch in the cabin. I touched the switch and the electrics came on!!! eeeeeeeeeeh! The nut holding the cable was loose, I tightened it and all was well. Imagine on the rally??

    Today is suspension alignment.

Alignment found a worn inner RS steering arm joint, after some frantic calling around a new one was found, fitted and aligned by our sponsor Mulfas Sicar. We are good to go!

That was an expensive weekend! LOL but looking on the positive side we were the lucky ones! There were 14 very good teams iin the rally and looking at the results nearly everyone had a problem so our issue was minor compared to what could have been.

Currently I don't know what the problem is. I had some issues Friday night with the Vee belt which I replaced, I filled up with fuel at Total on Friday . Saturday morning the engine started like normal, I drove 200 meters then the engine went onto 3 cylinders. that is how the engine remained all day. The strange thing is I can stop the engine and start it like normal but when reaching 2000rpm the engine goes on 3 cylinders. Also it is not the same cylinder each time I start the engine.

Saturday I drained all the fuel, changed the spark plugs, injectors, fuel pump, fuel filter and did a code check to find nothing wrong. I did not have a spare 02 sensor so I'm thinking the bad fuel fried the sensor. Yes I will be contacting Total!

You might want to push some fuel up the system with pressure and not into your engine, that stuff looks mighty sweet. :(

Also, skip that station next time. :)

Hope you get it all sorted out for the next event.

hahaha actually they ran out of jet fuel once at the airport so all the planes had to fly to Panama to refuel.

I was thinking the other day that I had reached a limit of things to do on the Mini...now I'm fully engaged on finding out why it won't run...LOL

So at first they called to say the engine was fine.....I had emailed them instructions which they did not follow. Anyway once they followed the email the fault happened. Hoooo bloody ray! so now they have the injectors out testing them. I bet the crappy fuel buggered them up.
