Update: So yesterday was the drop off day and all went extremely smooth...the tow truck ride was a little rough though.
Get to the dealer, nice place by the way, and checked in with the service center. They showed me around the place and got me comfortable. They were going to run a quick diagnostic to see if this was something the indi messed up on with the high pressure fuel pump...all was good on that. However, what did come back was not the greatest of news...yet!
opcorn:Service guy comes back and explains that my turbo is shot, the water pump pulley is cracked, a solenoid (can't remember the rest of the name of it) for the timing needs to be replaced, and I've got a cracked and leaking boot on my front driver side. crap! Well, the turbo and the pulley should be covered, but the other two are on me. Okay, lets get this going. They have to submit the repairs to the warranty company first and go from there. One thing I didn't know was that my warranty also covered 5 days of rental...SWEET! The dealer gets that set up for me and I'm off back home...140 drive home.
While on the way back I get a call from the dealer and they let me know that the rep from the warranty company will be out in 24-48 hours and that I'm looking at about $800 for the repairs for what won't be covered. I tell him I have to figure out a few things and that we'd chat tomorrow.
Get a call today and freaking AWESOME news all around! The turbo, pulley, and not only the boot, but the entire front axel will be replaced, UNDER warranty! The rep decided to condemn the entire front axel...who would argue?!?
At the end of all of this, as it sits, I'm paying for the solenoid and the main belt to be replaced...figured to just change the belt since they'll have it off anyway and save me the time later.
They're looking at Friday to possibly have it done, but it all depends on how quickly they can get the front axel. :mtrn:
The decision to buy the extended warranty is probably one of the best decisions I've ever made!![]()

Send the codes to Germany? Just anybody in Germany? The Hofbrauhaus? BMW? Lucky them: we, as an independent shop, don't enjoy the privilege of sending BMW 'jumbled' codes and getting explanations.

If they aren't sure of the difference between Germany and the UK... That is not a good sign.... Wonder if that impacts their ability to understand engine codes... So they just gave up and sent them on to Germany, which everyone knows is in the UK.... Yeah... That's gotta be it...

Read this thread again, one thing, I must have missed. How many miles on your 2011 Countryman.
Wow, you blew the engine on the way home, did they fill it with oil?
Holy Carp!-

Yes, interesting plate, what is the backstory on it?
76K, not many miles, are they hard miles with frequent oil changes? Since the turbo went out etc...... Just curious how the Countryman has been driven?
I got the JD POWER survey in the mail on Saturday for my 2011 Countryman, one of the reasons I bought the 100K mechanical after the fact was some of my early problems.
I suspect I will be springing for a set of shocks and will be doing front brakes when I get back from my road trip in my 2016. Shocks, brakes, yadda yadda are not covered in the 100K mechanical.
Brakes will be set 3 on the 2011 and now into the third set of tires, but really only two sets since i retired the RUNFARTS at 14K miles due to a nail and ride.
So, the backstory, was this plate put on after you started having issues with your 11?-

I purchased the car used and have only had it for a little over a year. My driving style isn't hard by any means. I mean I do get have some fun with her but not over doing it. I was a little late on the first oil change but also haven't needed that many to qualify for lack of upkeep...so I don't know how the previous owner drove it. I purchased it from a BMW dealer here in California, but they purchased the car from New York.
Just did the brakes all the way around. Purchased some StopTech Cryo Treated slotted rotors, Brembo pads for the front and Akebono euro ceramic pads for the back. Would have put Brembo's all the way around, but they don't make pads for the rear.
I did just drop about a little over a grand on some Pirelli Cinturato P7's and an alignment. I was leery on not getting the run flats since there isn't a spare. I just makes me nervous.
My wish list:
NM Eng. Air Charge Pipe
NM Eng. Discharge Pipe
Front Strut Brace
Actual, not platidipped, black wheels
And some sort of muffler upgrade
But from the looks of it, it'll be a while before I can actually get to this list.-

Not to jack your thread but I am going through the same thing with a dealership. This is the second time for the same problem, first time it took three weeks, on the third week this go around, and not one time has the dealership called me with an update. I take that back they did call with the bill the first go around, but that's it, I have been making all the calls.

UPDATE:
Here is what I was just sent...I honestly wasn't expecting them to send me anything. Interesting that the codes went from being sent to Germany to the UK...similar? Not so similar? Whatever! I also told them they wouldn't be seeing me or my car again. I'm sure that'll hurt em...right!?!

Well, the codes are in the hand of the dealer for monday's trip. Putting her on a flatbed tow truck and going along for the ride. It's gonna be a long, long day!

Good Luck and Godspeed.
