Can you detail what you actually did for the brake job?
Routine Rear brake job:
Check wheel bearing condition
Turn rotor
Inspect caliper seal and piston surface
Inspect brake lines
Inspect cable
Clean all parts
Replace pads
Lubricate required parts
Check fluid
Replace wheels and torque lug nuts

yep.......the usual stuff
(didn't need to turn the rotor) -
Sounds like you did every else?
If you were in the neighborhood I would say run it by and have a look see....but...:smile5:
FYI
You should always turn the rotors when replacing brake pads. -
Also...
a speed dependant knock may be from crap being between the rotor and the hub, slapping the caliper back and forth. Is the metal spring well seated? Are the caliper guides tight?
Do you have slotted rotors?
I'm betting you take it all apart, clean everything up, and put it all together, and the sound goes away...

Are you sure you got the new pads properly clipped onto on the pistons in the caliper - if you just slid them into the caliper, that's your problem. All you have to do is remove the pad and install it correctly.....those springs on the pads slip into a groove around the end of the piston

Well the knock is gone today so I believe, as the good Dr O has suggested, it was only some debris or a caliper slide sticking.
Thanks for the help. -

Ok......sorry to bring back the dead, but the noise came back earlier this week. Finally got the chance to get to the rear brakes today and guess what, the pad had come off of the clip on the drivers side.
Good call Minidave ! -

You know what was weird.....it would only knock for a day or two then it would be quiet for days and days. It only made noise 4 or 5 times since the OP and it always happened early in the week. And by the time the weekend came around it was quiet, so no need to try and figure out why (and I usually forgot about it by then.....). Until this last time.....lol. Started making noise on Fri. so I remembered to finally check it out.
