I was able to get the carpet installed today. I put carpet under the RSD and then on the RSD itself. I ran the carpet to the rear of the cargo area as well. It looks a little off because of all the angles on the sides of the RSD, but the carpet is nice and tight. The carpet is mostly black with some white/gray so it looks lighter in the photo because of the flash.

Here you can see how I ran the carpet all the way to the rear.

This shows the tool kit cover in place.

    Everything in it's place.

    Steve - Thanks.

Take your time and it will look great. I did clean the RSD with alcohol so that the carpet tape would adhere to it.

Great Work, very nicely done. Are those nets OEM for the R56?

He's asking about the nets, not the seats. I was going to ask the same question....

I got mine installed last weekend and it was pretty much of a snap.

One thing remains. They send a plug/gasket/rubber disc to cover up the assembly that accepts the pin from the seats on each side of the car. Directions state to kind of tuck the rubber disc that is slighlty larger than the opening. I was kinda sweaty and tired and gave it a couple of shots but it was kinda like herding cats that as soon as you had one side tucked the other would pop back out. Any suggestions? Tool to use?

Did mine in my 05 and since have had it covered in Blue & White leater to match the seats. So for 35 trophies and counting. I throw a blanket over it and throw in my suit cases and hit the road. I have a rear seat delete kit for 02-07 convertible if anyone is interested. They are made by Schrader Performance in Mount Holly NC. He also makes them for Mustangs. Go to rearseatdelete.com and check it out. The back seats are worthless to me and love to hear the exhaust. I will be at MITM and you can check it out. They are custom fitted and use only 3 screws. Took longer to remove the seats than put the delete kit in.

Same deal for doing a R56!

Look forward to meeting you too!

Anybody out there try the kit solution instead of BLUCOOPR's 'custom' solution?

The Shrader RearSeatDelete site offers kits with slight damage - has anyone tried one of those (saving 20%)?

I'd have to say that your pristine new RSD kit is going to get banged up through normal usage. Might as well save a few bucks on slightly blemished one.

Sold my Mini and would be willing to part with mine, It's carpeted to boot

It is not the RSD with the Racing Harness adaptation

If interested PM me [email protected] I'll make you a deal

If you're good with a saw, you can build your own. I originally built one for my R53, but now it's in my wife's Clubman. I was very surprised it fit the R55 with no modification (other than changing the carpet to black). Here are the dimensions--brown bits are 2x4s and orange is plywood:
