Huh, so that 2009 JCW sat for 24 hours and then went POOF..... Here I thought it occurred shortly after shutting off the MINI during the turbo cool down....

    Those MINI's are sooooo HOT.....

Hey, wait a minute, I have a 2009 JCW..... And I park it in an attached garage.....Hmmmmm

I think until I get my notice, I'm pulling one battery cable.

I'm sure there will be law suits, there always are. Did MINI tell folks not to park their cars in the garage? They sure should have.

On a side note we popped into the dealer today to check on the remaining warranty for Babs new to her Clubster. They wanted to do the water pump recall. I told them I needed a turbo too. Got a strange look when I told the nice fellow we have a justa.

I'm thinking that BMW should be expecting to be sued over this one.

Once they have the part in stock (if it isnt already) the replacement only took a few hours. Mine had been whining when I had it replaced.

I wonder how many frivolous lawsuits will be created by this recall... :confused5:

Correct, the Aux H2O Pump never runs for more than 10 min after shut-down...which means it's almost a given that there's a different direct root cause here than overcurrent on the circuit card due to electromigration. Maybe there's an indirect link, but it also means a law suit using the impending recall as a basis wouldn't have a snowball's chance in hell...

damn, that electromigration gets me every time! I think there should be a wall or something to keep everyone on their own side :p
