I've seen a custom mount in an Impreza WRX, and the driver did have the 3G option and was using it for GPS, but I'm not sure about store bought mounts.
I'm posting this from an ipad2 WIFI only 64 GB. Do I often kinda wish I had the 3g radio? Sure. But the monthly fees for that are cruel and unusual punishment. As stated earlier, there are a bajillion places with WIFI all over the place. I make do quite nicely. (I *can* tell you that if I did not already own an iPhone, this thing would have 3G.) Why the iPad? It simply works. The biggest problem I have with the iPad is the same problem everybody else has with it: sharing it with the rest of the family.
A quick search found the following for in car iPad 2 mounts that are not hang on the back of the seat to entertain the kids type. RAM Apple iPad Dock Apple iPad 2 - Holder with Tilt Swivel - ProClip Car Mounts for Mobile Phones, GPS, and Handheld Devices iPad, Tablet Holders, Accessories & Mounts for Cars & Trucks
Thanks for the links, Nathan! I just ordered my ZAGGskin which I customized to incorporate some upcoming design changes for Schultze. I will post pics when the project is complete.
Well, I went & bought my iPad2! I decided to get the 32GB WiFi version in Black. I ordered my Zaggskin this morning using a design which will appear ON & IN Schultze in the near future. I downloaded Forum Runner and I'm figuring out how to use it. Any tips, tricks or advice would be appreciated.
You really don't need ForumRunner on an iPad, it limits what you can see. Just use Safari and browse as you would on a desktop or laptop.
Is there any way to keep from getting the pop up messages about forum runner and tapatalk when using safari on the iPad?
I did use Safari and received a pop-up about downloading Forum Runner or Tapatalk to visit the forum. I chose Forum Runner for $1.99 or so... After reading your reply, I went back to safari and the same message popped up, but this time I hit CANCEL and the page loaded perfectly. (sigh)
That's exactly what happened to me, too. Will those two pop ups ALWAYS appear or is there a way to permanently stop them.
I'm thinking it has a lithium battery and if I recall correctly, lithium batteries don't have that issue.....
It's ok to drain it all the way once in a while, like every three or four months or so. Not for the battery life but for battery indicator accuracy. But no, there's no need to drain the factory charge.
We are working on it. We have a mount that will hold and iPad or iPad2. Now we are just playing with some different locations for mounting it. Our Tachometer FlexPod mounts are not really ideal for something that size.
My group has both iPads and a Xoom, since we are looking a developing Apps for both platforms. Right now it's an iPad Market. Someone noted that the iPad does not support Flash and that is true. There is an app that you can buy if you really need Flash but in the next year or so that will fade away with HTML5. Bottom line you get way you pay for. Prior to the iPad, Tablets just didn't cut it. Now everyone is doing catch up with the iPad. What I would like to see is a option to have it with the Mini. The 64GB iPad is cheaper and will out perform the Nav System offered by Mini and it's more than $1000 less. But better yet, you take it with you when you leave the car. Just the screen size of the iPad vs the Nav system in the Mini is a no brainer. The tablet offers a much bigger display then the car. Maybe the next generations of minis will offer an integrated iPad as an option?
