    Surely the 'cleverest' of these is ballistic missile which is offensive on two levels:
    1) ballistic means 'thrown' and missile means.... 'thrown object'
    2) ballistic is from Latin and missile is from (ancient) Greek, and nothing pisses off classical scholars more than mixing the two source languages....

    Anytime I receive instructions to do something I have already done or have two people assign the same task to me, I usually comment that the request must have been issued by the Department of Redundancies Department.
