I guess the answer is maybe for me. It sounds like they are on top of plowing the roads and a MINI with snow tires would be fine. Its up to me whether I want to subject the car to the cold weather.

Bend, Oregon? The photos on wikipedia depict a picturesque mountain town.

vwroom, I knew the answer was for you. I was giving ScottinBend a little poke. :)

Thanks for your commentary, Bend looks like a great place to live or perhaps vacation. :D

Yes it is a very nice place to be.......as long as you don't mind living in a resort area. Lots, lot's and more lot's of tourists along with their lousy driving habits.

Bad part......NO FRAKKIN' TRACKS CLOSE BY ! !

No tracks, that would be a deal breaker. :frown2: Still looks nice, sounds a bit like Estes Park in CO. :)

There is a business for you then...resort type area hmm. A country club style track with other activities tossed in as well, go karting, spa. Vacation homes for rent, trackside, with garages that have a lift.

What about Oregon Raceway Park? I am still the same distance from PIR that I was in Seattle. I used to track my Miata at Bremerton, which was crappy and a little over an hour away. I never went to Pacific Raceways because of availability and price of track time.

Well they didn't used to have any gas there, but according to the website they have just gotten fuel at the track!

They have just added a few more track days for this year so things are definitely looking up. It is still about 2 hours away, but it does give us one more alternative.

Well after trying to sell the MINI in Seattle I drove it down to Bend yesterday and I posted it on Portland version of Craigslist. I am going to be driving it around as long as the weather stays above freezing. Wave if you see me!

Bend is Gorgeous. I think I am going to ride Bachelor this winter.

Hope you like it in Bend, Bryan! Just Buy a $800 Toyota to get you through the winter season and keep the MINI for spring/summer/fall!
