I just replaced the OEM bulbs with PIAA H8 Yellow Bulbs and the difference is amazing. Although they aren't as bright as the clear bulbs, the clarity of objects along the road is improved. The H8's also retain the clear look during the day instead of the yellow lens look normally associated with the yellow bulbs. My purpose for replacing them was to achieve better visability this winter when driving in snow but the added clarity is a welcomed addition.
Hey Mark, do you know if these can be used in Ohio on public roads or just off road? That is...... without getting in trouble with the Po Po?
Technically they probably are not legal. The odds of getting caught & busted are smaller than the odds of you being attacked by a shark in the parking lot when you leave work tonight to go home. For years I ran headlight conversions when all Merica had was sealed beam headlights. When through a few safety inspections & never once did they say a word about my illegal European headlights.
Yah, I've been running yellow fogs in Ohio for almost 3 years now without any issues. (Knock on wood)
I just purchased a set of Nokya Yellows and I'm looking forward to getting them in. Any suggestions for replacement of the city light in either yellow or even better would be amber? I don't like the looks of the stock bulbs.
I run amber. You can pick them up just about anywhere as 194 w5w amber bulbs are used on many cars for side indicators. Quite common, so you can find them at any autozone or wal-mart car section.
I've been running PIAA Ion Yellow Plasma H8s with matching 194 wedge bulbs for over a year now. My problem with PIAA bulbs is that they last 11-13 months.
I have the very same set of bulbs.... The 194 amber and the PIAA ION yellow H8 came from Aaron at Outmotoring.... And yes, they do last a long time...
