The downstream MAP or T-MAP is on the front of the intake manifold, the upstream MAP is above the thermostat housing, to the right of the head facing the engine. First, is there a fault code? Because MAP failures are rare be sure to eliminate other possibilities first.

Backprobe both of your sensors before changing them. I had a hesitation problem and I convinced myself that my tmap sensor was going bad. Went to the dealer and bought one only to have the same problem afterward. So I got smart and bought the Bentley diagnosis manual and backprobed the map sensor before buying that one as well and got correct voltage readings with the car off key on and at idle, telling me the sensor is working properly. It takes only a few minutes and can save you $150 between the two sensors.
Hope this helps,

I'd have it diagnosed by a MINI professional. I've only replaced 1 map sensor in the last 5yrs.

I have replaced the primary (manifold) map and the secondary (above t-stat) once. Both had the same symptoms except the primary had me limping home where the secondary just had this feathering of the throttle when cruising down the road. Now the car runs perfectly fine
