Have you bought a Bentley Manual? If not, you really should. Otherwise any repairs you do will be like working in the dark.
The Bentley manual says that the engine control module must be reset after reinstalling the throttle housing or the engine may not start.
I haven't replaced a throttle body on a MINI, but I wouldn't do it without a Bentley manual, it tells you things like the necessity of resetting the ECU. It is the most important tool you'll have for working on your MINI.

Any time I swap something electric (with the exceptions of lights) I disconnect the battery.
But then I'm a computer tech, and that's standard procedure for us-

Once the airbox is of you will need to remove the charge piping between the long black plastic tube and the throttle body, as well as the noise maker that is routed to the cabin of the car.
Once that stuff is out of the way there are 3 T30 screws that hold the throttle body on, and one electrical connector.
I've never had an issue with a car not starting after a throttle body removal or replacement, nor have I had to reset the DME afterwards, but if you are having problems with the current throttle body I would have the DME adaptations reset by a qualified BMW/MINI shop that has access to dealer level computer access.-

OMG you should not be working on your own car if you are asking these types of questions genik.
Please have a qualified machanic do the work for you and quit being so cheap.
All your post are the same. If you don't know how to do something or know what something means try searching YouTube for a how to video or Google a term you don't understand.-
