Has anyone made a rep of this part? MINI Challenge Bonnet Scoop Cooling Vent - Cooper S | ChallengeVent at www.minigenuineparts.co.uk
Welp.... I'll tell you what, 99.83 BP is $158.39 USD.... Someone is making a "poke yur eyes out killin" on these... There is probably $5.00 worth of aluminum.... Not counting labor to make them... And no... I don't make them or sell them... I stay busy enough running my company so I have no interest in branching out... Here are the dimensions if you want to make your own... I can easily cut that out on the CNC machine if your willing to roll and bend it around a pipe or something yourself... Just bare .063 alum of course. I think that is the thinnest stuff we have here.. You finish it however you like..
It shot water all over my hot turbo when it rained... Steam would start wisping out of the scoop when I stopped....Probably doesn't bother those Challenge racer guy's though... They don't stop much, I guess....
I opened this thread and thought... Hmmm... How hard can it be? Using the PDF that Metalman supplied and some very rudimentary tools and supplies I had laying around the shop... I had one cut out, formed, test fitted and painted in under 20 minutes. I honestly can't understand why these things are so expensive! :frown2: Anyway, now I have to decide whether or not to actually install it on the car. I mean, what's the advantage in putting one of these on a stock S? Could one of you enlighten me as to any possible issues, problems or advantages? Thanks guys!
Well... I bolted this thing on today. I really have to hand it to MetalMan... This thing slipped nice and snug in the hole (giggity) and everything lined up perfect. All this just from folling his directions on the PDF. Unreal. Thanks MetalMan!!! :beer
