At least you could see the Mini heritage in these designs, the rendering in the article - outside of having MINI looking headlights and probably the grill - has no MINI design in it at all. Not a bad looking car in a generic sort of way, but hardy a staff carrier for the brand.

    What I posted on MF:

"MINI heritage is important? That's so laughable, if not insulting to our intelligence...The MINI heritage is an affordable car, lacking a little in refinement, but making up for it in a visceral driving experience. With each generation, BMW is going to a refined car, more comfortable, larger, and less affordable. That's ok (actually it's not ok, but from a business standpoint I get it), but don't try to spin it as they're staying true to the MINI heritage when in fact they've gone in exactly the opposite direction."

The BMW apologists should be there shortly.

Just noticed the rendering has the Hofmeister kink. It's a BMW with a MINI front end.

    Wow...where have you gone MINI???

All they need to do is add the upside-down kidney bean openings that were hiding behind the grille of the R53 and the transformation will be complete.

If it is near the drawing, I would drive it. Would make a great alternative at National or Enterprise in the 4dr line up.
