After a hiatus from most car related activities I'm slowly rejoining. Nothing dramatic about the reason, hubby and I started our own business and priorities loomed. As most car related gatherings and activities happen on weekends and that is when our business is most needed something had to give. Also, when my R53 was totaled the fun kind of went out of it. I got an R56 to replace but it wasn't the same. Now we finally have a few reliable employees that we may occasionally take a weekend off, plus we both ordered new MINIs and are getting psyched. I'm not sure I'll have time for track weekends but I will get time to do some of the fun drives with the local clubs. After reading around here for the last week or so (in anticipation of our pending arrivals) I get the feeling most don't like the F series MINIs and tend to be pretty derogatory about the way MINI is going and the F series specifically. I seriously looked at getting another R53 but just couldn't find one out there that fit the bill. I decided to get the F56 because I can order what I want and start fresh. When we went to test drive we both loved the new car. Things change but we both decided we could adjust and enjoy our new MINIs. Mine will be a VO/VO F56s, hubby has ordered an EB/B F55s.
Welcome back! There are a bunch of cranky ol' series one MINI owners here who think the marque was ruined when the series two came out, don't worry about them, they're mostly harmless. I followed a new MINI into town yesterday, I thought it looked great! The only thing I'm not thrilled with is the new front bumper. But it isn't anything that couldn't be helped by painting it body colored.
Welcome back. I learned many years ago that most people resist change but were it not for change we would still be driving Model A's.
Welcome back... Ignore the F56 haters.... I don't like the front bumper on the S.... But that's just me... It's your MINI, and you should enjoy it... I really don't think anyone here will criticize what you get....It's probably more frustration with MINI's design direction.... Oh.... And ignore David.0, he's harmless...
Welcome back, congratulations on the success of your business and enjoy your pursuit of life, liberty and dual MINIs!
Who you calling cranky.........................and old? Welcome back. If you like your car thats all that matters. Us F haters are more frustrated with the direction BMW has taken. Its not meant to be personal. Let the Mod-ing begin!! Its still a MINI! Pictures when you get them.
Hello! Oh, I don't have it yet. I have a JCW manual on order....actually it just got done being built and its waiting for a boat right now.
Nice! We went by the dealer earlier today to sign some paperwork and saw a nice (not manual) JCW in the showroom. Would have loved to take it home! Annette
Welcome back. We are not grumpy at any drivers or owners we just don't like what MINI \ BMW has done with the car and the brand.
Welcome again! Enjoy, it appears you did what you wanted and VO is the Volcanic Orange, yes. That should look sharp, post a picture or two or three.
Welcome back! I'm sure you'll enjoy your new cars when you get them. I've heard good things from people that have driven them. Personally, I'm an R53 guy. It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I hope your new cars do the same for you.
Great name :biggrin5:. I'm a Manhattan girl myself, (Rye not Bourbon!) but a good dry Martini is my summertime go to. Annette
Welcome back, and when you're looking for a good day trip, consider a visit to Helix--we're right down the street in Philly.
