Now that my Craven Tablet mount is here I just went and purchased Dash Command. Going to do the tablet mount install next, then try and get this all to work.

I use Rev, I would say it is good for just monitoring a few common things. You should be able to see Boost, Engine coolant temp, Speed, Fuel trim, And a few others. It takes some trial and error to get it to connect to the phone though. And you cant see anything important like oil pressure or temp.

Yeah wonderful. It gives you subtle audio cues when you do things that waste gas like hard braking, rapid accelerating, and speeding over 70 miles per hour.
HEH...mine would be screaming at me all the time then!-

I'm interested as well. I grabbed the Bluetooth version of the adapter and it works great on my android tablet with torque.
Problem is no torque app for iOS and don't always have my tablet with me. -

Well I use Rev. it seems to be stable and works on my older devices and my older iphone 4.
I think Dash Command is being used by John Paulson of Lost Coffee fame, you can hit him on FB or at one of his stores on Castle Rock, contact me tabs.
Also, Dash Command was featured by the young lady who promotes Carbon Mini, she has it running on a iPad in her R55. Looked pretty good, see her FB Carbon Mini page.
I have not bought Dash Command, I like it too on a larger device.
I use Rev to reset codes (not often, usually after a dyno run with my automatic) and to monitor boost and temps.
Usually after a track run to see if anything looks out of whack.

Next you can get SoundRacer (currently on Android, coming to iPhone).

Just a heads up, 05r50, that the bluetooth protocol on the iPhone is locked. They do not usually work with the OBDII senders, that's why Nathan has the one that sends a wifi signal.
I hear good things about Dash Command, but I use Torque. -
I have both but I use Rev the most. The first time I used my ELM it took about two try's to get it to work. I have a old iPhone 3G that I had AT&T unlock and is used only for a code reader. I made a mout next to my tac that holds the phone so I can display additional info on it.

I am also interested. I haven't bought the OBDII adapter yet, but it seems to me that there are more and cheaper apps for Android. I use an iPhone, but I do have an Android phone collecting dust that I could potentially use for this application. Torque in the Play store has a Lite free version that I can try out.
But I would like to use my iPhone, that way I won't have to carry 2 phones with me.
I'm with Nathan on this one, dash command looks good, but a lite free version would be nice to try it out before I drop $50 on the app. -
I haven't pursued this a lot more yet cause I'm waiting on the mount.
I got in on this The nGroove Snap by Mountek: Mount Any Mobile Device In Your Car CD Slot | Indiegogo

I know it's not much help but I also use torque and the full version was only like 4.95.
-
I decided to dig out my Android phone and use that as my OBDII reader (using Torque app) works good, don't need a data connection, so I didn't have to activate it (I currently use iPhone 5 for calls, etc.) here's my setup with a Craven Speed mount:

I use my Garmin....
But that's because I have a dumb phone -
I'm still waiting on the mount for the iPad Mini. Ship date has slipped yet again. Ahh the fun of these social financing deals for new products. Not a one I've been in on has shipped on time.

Good call. An old android phone can be of some real use as a digital gauge.

I got a few requests, so I rushed up a page for the Tablet Mount. If you have questions, or suggestions PM me or we'll start a new thread.

I just jumped onto the Rev versus Dashcommand research curve. Nathan, now that you're set-up with the iPad Mini, what do you think of the Dashcommand app?
Do either of these apps allow for collected data logs to be dumped to a laptop for viewing on a larger screen? What about re-setting (removing?) ECU adaptations? -
I haven't had much time with the app. Car has been in body shop for about a month now.
